Porter is a writer, performer and zealous developer of other people' plays (and not solely as a means of avoiding work). Porter has written a dozen plays several of which have won awards, grants, and positive press (which she claims she doesn't read).
Porter's play Munched recently received three LA WEEKLY AWARDS and 2 LA Drama Critics' Circle awards for its Los Angeles premiere with the Buzzworks Theatre Company, where it ran for 8 weeks and then enjoyed a 4 week extension. Porter enjoyed that as well.
